Hidari Hokai was a member of The Illuminati. He was a complete psychopath, he liked to see people in agony and is seen several times with the blood of the people he has killed. He was one of the 2 Illuminati members that were responsible for the destruction of Heaven’s Arena.

Hidari Hokai was born in Peijin (the capital of the Republic of East Gorteau) as the son of Marcos, a powerful military leader of the Republic of East Gorteau. His father arranged it that Hidari could flee when he was just 3 years old. He later returned and learned nen from Akagi Hogai. Hidari was treated very badly during his training, which is why he fled again and was happy to hear that Akagi was killed. He would later meet Nomura Hideo in the Republic of West Gorteau, where he joined the Illuminati.

Being born in East Gorteau in a wealthy family meant that he had enough food, but did not get any physical training. This meant that he was physically quite weak when compared to hunters or average nen users. When he joined the Illuminati he was still weak, but he trained, eventually becoming about as strong as Killua, before the later learned nen.
Nen[]
Hidari Hokai is a very skilled nen user, like every member of the Illuminati. When he took the water divination test, the leaf began to move, meaning that he is a manipulator. He is seen using ren, hatsu, in, en and gyo, implying that he is also capable of using ten and probably other advanced techniques.
